WWF-Russia Forest Program

Forest Program of WWF-Russia is a part of a global international WWF program «Forests For Life». It is aimed at forest conservation and consists of the following blocks: forest protection, sustainable forest management and forest restoration.

WWF-Russia Forest Program addresses the following themes:

• Development of a network of protected forest areas;
• Introducing sustainable forestry management models in the Model Forests network;
• Promoting responsible business strategies, ecological policies and FSC voluntary certification among Russian timber producing companies;
• Curbing illegal logging and timber trade;
• FLEG and formulation of a national forest policy.
